Neither desert heat nor power and water outages in Moqattam could not stop twelve intrepid ladies from learning a host of new methods and choreographies at our A to Z Oriental Dance Intensive held at Dr. Hassan Khalils' International Saray for Oriental Culture, or ISOC.

Keti and Paola partnered up to offer a great semi-nar series for dancers certified in A to Z. Most were performers and teachers, from places like Spain, Wales, the US, and of course from Down Under and New Zealand!

Keti taught an awesome ensemble piece combin-ing cane, veil, and Shamadan, as well as a cane Saiidi for groups. She had live musicians come in to play for us, which added a great new dimen-sion to the learning experience. She also taught a lively Flamenco fusion piece with plenty of skirt-swishing and beautiful turns.

Paola created a sassy, flirtatious Milaya piece which was performed in a trio, along with her rendition of the high-energy Techno-Pharonic hit "Habibi" by Gulseren.

The seminar group was a wonderful group of dancers who made the week a week of new friendships, laughter, and fun.
