Hello Everyone!
It's been a while since I've sent out a dispatch, and it's because I've been constantly on the move - from Australia to Asia to a grand tour of North America, where I've been based out of New York City since Boxing Day 2008. I've been a guest instructor at Bellyqueen since March, and a guest instructor at Harem Bellydance Studio in Long Island since April. In the months to come, I will teach again in Asia, then spend Fall of 2009 teaching in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.
Traveling has been fascinating, fulfilling, hard work, and I've been having a blast! I've met wonderful dancers everywhere I've been, but best of all, I've had the chance to share my inspiration and work with groups of ladies in the mood for something new, fresh, and exciting.
Performance life has been really exciting as well - I was invited to present a Balkan Fusion solo at the Theatrical Bellydance Salon with Bellyqueen and Ranya Renee, and have performed regularly around the New York - New Jersey region at venues such as JeBon, Tagine, Lafayette, Salamaniyya, Ayhan's in Long Island, and on June 2, I will be honored as the featured performer at The Cupping Room in SoHo.
Some favorite workshops have been Balkan and Gypsy Fusion, along with Lyrical Orientals flavored with Isadora Duncan technique. Below, find a brief travelogue of where I've been, along with future workshop listings. Hope to see you soon, wherever in this world our paths may cross! |
